Between the Issues

Between the Issues, the Journal of Financial Planning's online-only content, welcomes articles for consideration. This section of the site allows for added editorial flexibility, expanding the kinds of content we can offer FPA members.

Composition Approach


Length

Maximum length for submissions is 2,000 words.

Audience

Your audience is primarily experienced financial planning professionals. Is your topic pertinent to this audience? Does it offer new perspectives or techniques? Can readers apply your information directly to their work in financial planning?

Objectivity

Objectivity is essential. Neither promote nor put down any specific company, product, person, or organization.

Composition Elements

Format

Include your name, designations, a brief biography (25–30 words) and contact information.

Infographics

Any infographics—tables, charts, graphs, etc.—should be easily reproduced electronically.

Copyright

You should hold the copyright to your submission, and properly attribute all text and graphic sources.

Review

All submissions are subject to peer review at the editors' discretion.

Payment

Authors who submit essays to Between the Issues receive no reimbursement for any expenses incurred in conjunction with the preparation of submissions.
